Michael Withey - Summary Execution

Third Place Books Seward Park is thrilled to have Mike Withey, author of Summary Execution:  The Seattle Assassinations of Silme Domingo and Gene Viernes, speak and sign books on Thursday, July 12th at 7pm.  Mike’s book describes the decade-long struggle by the Committee for Justice for Domingo and Viernes against the Marcos regime who was found to have murdered the two anti-Marcos union activists in Seattle on June 1, 1981 by a federal court jury in 1989.  This is the first and only time a foreign head of state has been held liable for the murders of US citizens on US soil.  Mike will provide new information on the role of an FBI informant operating out of the FBI office in Seattle in the cover-up of the murders. Check out a preview of the book!

Michael Withey is a Seattle-based public interest lawyer who has made a career representing the “little guy” against powerful interests to protect constitutional rights, civil rights, and human rights for the past 42 years.  He was a very close friend of the slain men, and dropped out of law practice for 2 and ½ years to pursue justice in their case, while wearing a bullet proof vest recommended by the police.
