Third Place Books is pleased to welcome local poet Haines Whitacre to our Ravenna store in celebration of their new chapbook Haptic Verses: In Imaging Vessels, poems of estuaries, syntax runoffs, trans pleasure and the haptic self. The chapbook looks to supply-chain systems, industrial shipping technologies, militarized waterways, and manufactured landscapes to imagine how lyric and language might recover from these sites of empire an erotic sense of the interconnected value of life.
The night's program will also feature readings from local poets Conner Roberts, Shelby Handler, and nanya jhingran. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required in advance.
Copies of Haptic Verses will be available for purchase at the store on the night of the event only. This event will include a public signing and time for audience Q&A. Sustain our author series by purchasing a copy of the featured book!
