From Crime to Classroom: How Education Changes Lives

From Crime to the Classroom: How Education Changes Lives is informed by a combination of the presenters' life experiences, academic research, and professional experiences to engage with audiences around the state in a conversation about the promise of what he refers to as the "prison-to-college pipeline". 

Omari Amili is an author and a member of the Humanities Washington Speaker's Bureau. Born in Seattle, Omari attended over 15 schools before becoming a product of the school to prison pipeline. Upon his release from prison he climbed from a GED to a Master's degree before publishing his autobiography and beginning a career as a public speaker.
