Ordering Books

Bulk Orders

Thanks for thinking of Third Place Books for your ordering needs! We are happy to work with educators to process bulk purchases of books for use in the classroom, school library, or for professional development. Whether you are ordering an extensive list of books or a large quantity of a single title, we can provide a quote that includes our 20% educator discount.*

Additionally, if you need them, our expert kids booksellers can help to recommend the best titles for your particular needs. We are always excited to suggest books for teachers to use with their students!

Please email Sarah Breaux, the Children's Outreach Manager and point person for teacher orders, with your list of books, including the exact titles, authors, and ISBNs. We will check stock availability and get back in touch with a quote. Unless you note otherwise, we will order all books into our Lake Forest Park location. In rare circumstances, we can ship or deliver teacher bulk orders.

If you want to pay for any purchases you make at our Third Place Books locations with school-approved purchase orders, please have a copy of the PO when you check out at our cashier. Please note that we cannot keep track of the balances on open POs; that is the responsibility of the teacher.

*Please note: In rare cases, depending on the book's availability, we may not be able to offer the full 20% discount on all items. For some high volume purchases (100+) of a single title, however, we may be able to offer a discount greater than 20%.

Shopping with a Purchase Order

If you'd like to use a school-approved purchase order to shop at our Third Place Books locations, you have three options:

  1. You can email a complete list of books (including the exact title, author, and ISBN for each book) to Sarah Breaux. We will check stock availability for each title and provide a quote that includes our 20% educator discount. After your approval, we will order the books and call you when they are ready to pick up.
  2. You can come in to one of our stores with your purchase order in hand and shop our sections. If you need a cart to hold your books while you shop, just ask! Please let us know that you are shopping with a PO when you first arrive at our cashier counter so we can best process your purchase.

Please note:

  • We cannot keep track of balances on open POs; that is the responsibility of each teacher.
  • You must keep a copy of the transaction to submit to your school district's accounting department.
  • In rare cases, depending on a book's availability, we may not be able to apply our 20% educator discount to all books in your order.
  • We cannot accept POs for online ordering--you must contact Sarah Breaux to process your order
