COVID-19 FAQ FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS

Does Third Place Books require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for in-person events?

Yes. Third Place Books requires attendees to provide proof of vaccination for our in-person events this season, or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the event. Masks are required for all attendees, regardless of vaccination status. Our staff will be vaccinated and masked.

These policies are subject to revision as health and safety guidelines change. By registering for an in-person event, you will receive updates on these policies.

If an in-person event is canceled due to COVID-19 safety precautions, can I receive a refund for my ticket purchase?

Yes. Any in-person event that is canceled due to COVID-19 will be rescheduled virtually on Zoom Webinar, our virtual events platform. We understand that a virtual experience and in-person experience with an author is not the same. If an in-person event is moved virtually, we will automatically refund all General Admission tickets and register ticket holders for the virtual event. Customers who purchased book-included tickets will be given the opportunity to receive a full refund for their purchase, or retain their purchase in exchange for the featured book.

What do you require for proof of vaccination / negative COVID-19 test?

Attendees must be fully vaccinated with a CDC-authorized COVID-19 vaccine, and must show proof of vaccination upon entering the venue. “Fully vaccinated” means the event date must be at least fourteen days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least fourteen days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. See the CDC website on the latest guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination.

Proof of vaccination may include:

  • a physical vaccination card
  • a picture of a physical vaccination card displayed on your mobile device
  • a digital copy of your immunization records from a state health department-approved site

If valid proof of vaccination cannot be provided, attendees must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test, as well as a valid ID, upon entry to the event. Those individuals must have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours of the event. We are not currently accepting antigen tests as proof of immunity.

Does Third Place Books livestream events? Are your in-person events recorded?

Occasionally! Third Place Books is unable to livestream every event on our in-person calendar, but we have plans to make this an option for select author events in the future. Livestream options will be advertised in our event listings when this option is available. Click here to watch recently recorded events on our YouTube Channel.

Third Place Books is thrilled to bring in-person author events back to the Seattle community this year. We take our COVID-19 policies seriously to protect our staff, neighbors, and you! If you have questions or concerns, contact events@thirdplacebooks.com.
