I recently had the pleasure of watching the tv show Only Murders in the Building (shout out to Rosa, Claire, and Allie for recommending it!) and I was delightfully charmed from start to finish. I quickly fell into this cozy mystery set in New York City following the unexpected trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as they try to solve a murder that took place in their fancy apartment building while starting a true crime podcast along the way. I was pulled in by the eclectic cast of characters, funny moments, and the twists and turns as the plot thickened.
As someone who tends to veer away from things with murder in the title, this show reminded me how fun a mystery can be and that there is in fact an entire genre of cozy mysteries out there to explore. So, if you too have just finished binging this show and are searching for some fun and not-too-scary cozy mysteries to read, check out the list below! And if you haven't watched the show yet, please go and remedy that right away. Happy sleuthing!

In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, here is a list of some incredible books by Latinx and Hispanic authors! From fiction to romance to young adult and middle grade, I hope you're able to find a new story to fall into.
Let us know what you're reading during Latinx Heritage Month by tagging us @thirdplacebooks on social media! We always love seeing what you're reading and finding new recommendations. This month long celebration takes place from September 15th - October 15th, as many independence anniversiaries for Latin American countries are between that time range.
Whether you’re new to the romance genre or an old hat, chances are you’ve read and enjoyed a good love story at some point in your life. I love this genre for its timeless element of human connection and the happy escapism of a satisfying ending. While the Romance genre has always been well read, it’s currently enjoying a resurgence of popularity, with publishers recognizing the genre as more than a guilty pleasure. There are so many authors of diverse backgrounds to choose from it can almost be overwhelming. Good thing our staff has many romance readers who can help show you the way!
Crack open your sunscreen and get out your beach bags people because summer has officially begun! To help set the tone for sunset evenings, cool beverages, and sticky watermelon fingers I’ve got a whole list of books to get you in that summer sunshine mood. I’ve got lots of Fiction and Romance with some Mystery & Suspense as well as a few non-fiction books towards the end. I hope you soak up every drop of the summertime vibes emanating from these books and that they help you jump into your summer reading plans with a splash.
Stay tuned for next week's blog post all about Kids & YA summer books!
I'm back again folks with more Asian American and Pacific Islander book recommendations to continue celebrating AAPI Heritage Month - and this time we're talking about adult books! I've included a good range of fiction, non-fiction, romance, science fiction, and fantasy so there's all kinds of genres for your perusal.
Though there's a good amount of books on this list, but it only scratches the surface of amazing books by AAPI authors. I definiltey recommend following these authors and more on social media to continue hearing about more book recommendations. And if you have the means, support your local AAPI owned businesses in your community and consider donating to nonprofits that support the AAPI community (such as API Chayahere in Seattle).
Make sure to follow us onInstagram,Twitter, andFacebookfor more book-related fun and if you're looking for the audiobook version of any of these titles, you can head toLibro.fmwhere you can get audiobooks while still supporting Third Place Books!
