If you've graduated from something, there's a good chance you received a certain book. And if you're trying to find a gift for a current graduate there's also a good chance that someone else has already bought this book.

We made it to the new year and the air is abuzz with exciting upcoming releases! Now that we’ve figured out our favorite books of 2022, and your favorite books of 2022, it’s finally time to look ahead. 

I asked Third Place booksellers what they’re anticipating in the new year and here were some of their answers: 

Book Recommendations for Picky Shakespearians

Here’s the thing. There are so many recommendations out there for what you should read based on your favorite Shakespeare play. And since Shakespeare is one of the most well-known playwrights, as well as being credited with the invention of over 1,700 words, it makes total sense! In fact, we just put out a blog post about some fantastic Shakespeare adaptations that you should check out. But what if none of those recommendations hit home for you? Maybe you need a break from Shakespeare’s tropes and are looking for something that’s the complete opposite.

Black Excellence During Black History Month

When I was growing up, I loved reading about distant fantastical worlds just as much as I loved reading about high school drama. Reading quickly became my number one pastime, but no matter how many books I plowed through, it was difficult for me to find books where the characters looked like me. Luckily, as I got older, more and more Black authors were publishing books with beautiful Black main characters.
