2022 Audiobook Favorites

Audiobooks are my favorite way to pass the time on the way to work, and some books just lend themselves to audio production. They also make a great holiday gift!

In 2022 I made it through more than seventy audiobooks from Libro.fm. Here are the standouts:

Listen to Black People

In the last week we’ve seen an explosion of orders for books about race and activism. We’re selling out of books by Black authors -- and so are our distributors. Printers are rushing reprints, and we’ll get these books into your hands as quickly as we can, but we want to do everything we can to make sure you have access to information as quickly as possible.

To that end we thought we’d remind you that if you like audiobooks, you can download these books from Libro.fm -- while still supporting the local indie of your choice -- and start listening right now.

Quick Audiobooks to Listen to While Crafting

Hello fellow crafters! I think it's fair to say we've all had a bit more time to engage in our indoor hobbies these days, which means many of us have been crafting more than usual! And whether you're knitting, or embroidering, or maybe sewing masks, as several of our Third Place Booksellers have been these past few months, there's nothing better than crafting with the company of a great audiobook.

So here’s a list of quick, engaging reads that you can download off libro.fm right now, no leaving your house necessary.

Lend an Ear

Lend an Ear

Nothing keeps me saner than the long midday walks I go on in between staring at screens and the audiobooks I've been listening to while I meander. Sometimes story elements bleed into my walking path, and I get to notice a sweet verisimilitude and drift deeper into the narrative.

Why we love audiobooks and Libro.fm. Hint: it has to do with five free audiobooks.
