Third Place will donate $5 from the sale of each copy of Matterhorn to a local Disabled Veterans’ Group. “Matterhorn is a raw, brilliant account of war that may well serve as a final exorcism for one of the most painful passages in American history,” Sebastian Junger wrote in a New York Times review of Woodinville author Karl Marlantes’s epic debut novel, a vivid narrative of the lives of American troops in Vietnam.   Marlantes is a Yale graduate who served as a Marine in Vietnam.
